Clifford Eliaser Lynne was born December 25, 1910, the son of Andrew and Gina (Hanserud) Lynne. On February 12, 1911, he was baptized by Rev. O.T. Storaasli and on June 14, 1925, confirmed by Rev. O.M.O. Wee. He was a lifetime member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church and served in several capacities during the years. He was employed a number of years at the Clarkfield Post Office and in October of 1936, accepted a position at the Farmers & Merchants State Bank of Clarkfield where he served until his recent retirement, in January, 1967. On July 3, 1939, he was united in marriage to Alva C. Wilson at the Bergen Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Clarkfield. Alva passed away on August 21, 1960. His work at the bank was interrupted by World War II and he served over three years as a member of the United States Navy in the South Pacific. He was active in community affairs, being especially noted for his interest in junior league baseball for which he coached many years. He was a member of the American Legion, Clarkfield Sportsmen's Club, Civic & Commerce Association and the Clarkfield Fire Department. Mr. Lynne passed away November 15, 1967, at his Clarkfield home, at the age of 56 years. Beside his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Melford. His one brother, Arden Lynne, Sr., survives him as do several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. IN MEMORY OF CLIFFORD E.
