Clifford E. Anderson, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 1990, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 1990, at Swede Home Lutheran Church of Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, with Pastor Joyce Mesner and Pastor Norm Aronson officiating. Organist will be Kathy Jahn with solo music provided by Pastor Joyce Mesner. Burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery of rural Minneota. Serving as pallbearers will be Knute Anderson, Earl Christiansen, John Gislason, George Murphy, Don Quesnell and William Willander. Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening and with the family Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. at the Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield. Clifford E. Anderson was born February 12, 1918, to Edwin B. and Sigrid (Lindstrom) Anderson in Eidsvold Township, Taunton, Lyon County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Hope Lutheran Church of Minneota, Minnesota. Clifford attended school in both Taunton and Minneota. He was united in marriage to Leona Knutson on October 30, 1937. They lived and farmed near Clarkfield, Minnesota, and upon retirement they moved to Montevideo, Minnesota. Clifford was an active member in Swede Home Lutheran Church for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed participating in community sports. Surviving Clifford are his wife, Leona of Montevideo; daughter, Carol Faye Sandbakken of Watson, Minnesota; son, Charles Anderson of Mankato, Minnesota; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Donald C. Anderson of Savannah, Georgia; and one sister, Shirley Elliott of Encino, California. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Leonard Anderson.
