Clenora (Thelma) Dahl was born on February 24, 1906, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Alfred and Martha Hoiland. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Clenora married Sam Dahl. She worked at several restaurants during her life in the Cottonwood, Minnesota and Marshall, Minnesota area. She worked at Shorty's Cafe and Slette's Cafe in Cottonwood and later at the E & B Cafe and Club 59 in Marshall. She also sold Avon. She belonged to the Ladies Aid of her church. Clenora entered the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, in September of 1987. She passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 1994 at the Care Center at the age of 88 years. She is survived by son Ole Dahl of Clarkfield, a brother, Merton Hoiland of Clarkfield, a sister Murial of Thor, Iowa; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam and children Sam and Junice. Funeral services for Clenora (Thelma) Dahl were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 1994 at the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel in Clarkfield. Officiating, Pastor John Smith Organist, Kathy Jahn.
