May 17, 1931 – December 10, 2006
Clark LeRoy Heimark was born May 17, 1931, to Clarence J. and Mabel (Monson) Heimark at their home in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized June 7, 1931. He was a graduate of Clarkfield High School. He farmed on the family farm north of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Clark enlisted in the United States Navy from November 30, 1950, with an honorable discharge on December 9, 1954. Clark married Marlyce L. Swanson on December 22, 1951. They were the parents of seven children: Charles, Deborah, Rick, Cheryl, Carol, Curt and Alice. Clark and Marlyce lived in Watson from 1979 to 2000. They built a home on Lake Latimer in 2001, and were residing there at the time of his death. He passed away on Sunday evening, December 10, 2006, at the Long Prairie Hospital, Long Prairie, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 23 days. He is survived by his wife Marlyce and his children: Charles L. (Joy) Heimark of Cologne, Minnesota, Deborah (Dave) Werner of Montevideo, Minnesota, Rick Heimark of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cheryl (Brad) Stensrud of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Carol (Bobb) Quenemoen of Burnsville, Minnesota, Curt (Mary) Heimark of Brandon, South Dakota, and Alice Heimark of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Robert (Geri) Heimark; sister Eleanor (Adrian) Johnson; sister-in-law Dorothea Heimark; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mabel; and siblings Charles Heimark Sr. and Mae O'Brien; and step granddaughter Tammy Quenemoen. Clark's greatest joy was his wife and family. He took great pride in his children and their spouses and his grandchildren and their accomplishments in life. He taught his family to work with their head and hands, but also taught compassion and caring for people. He enjoyed fishing and camping and traveling with his family. The family had a large family table with "Dad" at the head of the table. There was always room for someone that needed help.
