Clarence Hanson was born on a farm in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on June 14, 1894, the son of Peter O. and Lerena (Briggs) Hanson. He spent most of his years in the Cottonwood, Minnesota area until entering the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, in April of 1969, where he resided until being admitted to the Clarkfield Hospital. He was transferred and underwent surgery at the Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis, later returning to the Clarkfield Hospital where he suffered a heart attack on Sunday evening, November 14, 1971. He passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 1971, at the age of 77 years. He leaves to mourn his passing the following brothers and sisters: Roger of Minneapolis, Mary (Mrs. George Gautefall), and Ella (Mrs. Phileman Anderson), both of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Mabel (Mrs. Jack Skogen) of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and Elva (Mrs. Clarence Hoiland) of Clarkfield; as well as a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers: Olaf, Ancel and Walter.
