Clarence Nobel Christiansen was born on August 17, 1918 to Alfred and Thea Christiansen in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized on September 22, 1918 and confirmed May 8, 1932, by Pastor Otterstad at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. On October 28, 1939, Clarence and Alice Knutson were married at the parsonage in Montevideo by Pastor Holt. He was born and raised on the family farm in Normania Township until he retired and moved to Clarkfield in 1991. Clarence enjoyed farming and the time he spent visiting with his family and friends. Clarence passed away on Monday, September 18, 1995 at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife Alice; his sons, Curtis and wife Sally of Clarkfield, Minnesota and Earl and his wife Rita of Granite Falls, Minnesota; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister Thelma and husband Harry Stokke of Clarkfield, and sisters-in-law Leona Anderson of Montevideo and Gladys and husband Juell Oakland of Clarkfield and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother and sister.
