Obituary

Clarence Harvey Christensen was born October 19, 1900, in Normania Township of rural Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Alexander and Berit (Kompelien) Christensen. He was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church of which he was a lifetime member. He attended Country school. He married Annie Haaland on January 16, 1943. Two children were born, Connie and Claire. He was a farmer until his retirement in 1965. For 25 years he served as treasurer for the Spring Creek Cemetery and also was a member of the church council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and repairing guns. Clarence died August 19, 1991, at his home near Clarkfield. He is survived by his wife Annie; daughter Connie and her husband Thomas Van De Putte of Clarkfield, Minnesota; son Claire of Duluth, Minnesota; brother Floyd of Montevideo, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, infant granddaughter Mary Ann, infant brother Harney, and sisters Idella Peterson, Blanche Froland, Lillian Tufte, Inez Johnson, and Vivian Kolflat.
