Clara West was born March 21, 1889, in Clarkfield, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew Peterson and Lena (Winson) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She married Frank West of Minneapolis and lived there until the time of her death. She passed away April 27, 1960, at Deaconess Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 71 years. Survivors include brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ella Bedford of Florida, Geneva (Mrs. Cullen Espy) and Dagna (Mrs. V.A. Nelson) of Los Angeles, California, Willard Peterson of Fenton, Michigan, and Mrs. Ingeborg Powers of Flint, Michigan. Her son, Wado, preceded her in death as did her parents and the following sister and brothers: Amanda, Alfred, Harry, Edward, and Gayland (who passed away May of 1959, also interred in the Clarkfield City Cemetery). Her funeral was conducted May 2, 1960, by Richard Gill Funeral Home, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
