Clara Martinson was born November 6, 1897, to Toffef and Betsy (Severson) Ellingson of Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. December 10, 1919, she was married to Oliver Martinson of Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, where they farmed and raised their family. To this union were born five children: Olivine (Mrs. Clarence) Haroldson of Minneota, Minnesota, Eileen (Mrs. Ernest) Brovold of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Doris (Mrs. Clinton) Brovold of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Russell of Syracuse, Nebraska, and John of Marshall, Minnesota. Clara is survived by her five children; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Rachel Harmening of St. Paul, Minnesota; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver in 1980, two brothers, threee sisters and a grandson. Since the death of her husband she has made her home with Clinton and Doris Brovold of Granite Falls. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
