Clara Sophie Enstad Lund was born December 18, 1906, in rural Granite Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew and Caroline (Brandlee) Enstad. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in North Dakota. Clara married Selmer Lund on September 5, 1931. To this union one daughter, Sharon, was born. They lived and farmed in the Granite Falls area. She was a member of the Granite Falls Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid group and also the Roadside Homemakers Club of Hazel Run, Minnesota. Clara entered the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, in August of 1988. She passed away December 7, 1989, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 82. Clara is survived by a daughter, Sharon and her husband, Stanley Homan of rural Boyd, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Richard and wife Jodi and great grandchild, Ashley of Alexandria, Minnesota, Lori and her husband Todd Risa and great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie and Steven of Clarkfield, and Randy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one brother, Oscar of Granite Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Selmer; five brothers, Selmer, Alfred, Laurents, Carl and Edwin; and one sister, Aletta. But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the labor, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing sympathy, undying love...
