Clara Olga (Kopitzke) Dahlberg Stueland was born on April 29, 1909 at the home of her parents John and Magdalena (Wiegers) Kopitzke in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized in 1909 and confirmed on April 15, 1923, both at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township. She attended St. John's Parochial School and also District #44. Clara married Andrew Dahlberg on November 26, 1934. Andrew passed away on June 28, 1939 at the age of 42 years. Clara and Arthur Stueland were married in Fremont, NE on May 15, 1941. Clara was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church of Clarkfield. She loved gardening and flowers and was a member of the Garden Club. She also enjoyed embroidering, cooking, baking, and was a 'Skipbo champion.' She enjoyed collecting Salt and Pepper Shakers, and Cups and Saucers. She has made her home at the Clarkfield Care Center since August of 1995. She passed away at the Care Center on Monday, September 1, 1997 at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 4 days. Clara is survived by her daughters: Patricia Dahlberg Stueland of Dayton, Ohio; Sharon Olson of Waukon, Iowa, and Madlyn Stueland of Richfield, Minnesota. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lori and Brett Olson of Waukon, Iowa and sisters-in-law Elda Kopitzke of Clarkfield, MN, Thea Kopitzke of Willmar, MN and Ruth Kopitzke of Sherman Oaks, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Andrew Dahlberg and Arthur Stueland; brothers, Herman, Henry, Otto, Landow, Edward, Edmund, and Oscar; sisters, Bertha, Emma, Lydia, Alma, and Ida and three siblings who died in infancy.
