Obituary

Mrs. Clara Johnson was born on February 6, 1884, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Steen and Nellie (Langland) Johnson. She was baptized by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard and confirmed by Rev. H.O. Fjeldstad in Bergen Lutheran Church of Stony Run Township. On February 24, 1907, she was united in marriage to Mr. Alberg Johnson of Belmond, Iowa. To this union five children were born, the eldest, Cyrus Elmer, who died in infancy. Children surviving her are Sadie (Mrs. Arthur Nielsen) of Boyd, Julien Johnson of Howard, South Dakota, Pearl (Mrs. LaVern Cole) of Alderwood, Washington, and Agnes (Mrs. Palmer Cole) of Wood Lake, Minnesota. Her husband passed away April 22, 1931. She also leaves to mourn her departure three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Mary Skogen of Montevideo, Minnesota, John Stenson of Boyd, Minnesota, Alfred Stenson and Alma (Mrs. Gust Christopherson) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Tillie (Mrs. Dell Ekholm) of Montevideo, Minnesota; ten grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson made their home on a farm near Boyd until his death, after which time she moved to Clarkfield. They were active members of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, until she recently became a member of First English Lutheran Church of Clarkfield. Mrs. Johnson was a devoted Christian mother and loved to be in the House of God as long as she was able. However, recently she was confined to her home, but enjoyed the comfort and blessings of radio sermons and the reading of God's Word. She took great interest in her children and grandchildren. Her daily prayers were that all her dear ones might come to know their need of the Loving Savior and choose this way of "Life". Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS. CLARA B.
