Mrs. Clara Jeanette Berre, 79, of the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, died at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, 1987. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 1987, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Organist was Mavis Gustafson and soloist was Mavis Ellingson. Casket Bearers were her grandsons, Jeffrey Nelson, Joseph and Steven Roney, Bradley, Paul, Timothy and Wayne Tjosaas. Final Resting Place is the West Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. She was born April 21, 1907, in Sandness Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Lars and Sophia (Haugen) Gautefall. She was baptized on May 19, 1907, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls. She attended country school and the Hazel Run Public School, Hazel Run, Minnesota. On July 30, 1922, she was confirmed at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard. She married Julius Berre on October 17, 1935, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Hazel Run and Granite Falls, Minnesota. After the death of her husband, she returned to the family farm to care for her three brothers. She has been a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center for the past three years. She was a homemaker all of her life. She is survived by daughters, Carol (Mrs. Lyle) Tjosaas of Kasson, Minnesota, Jeanett (Mrs. Jim) Roney of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Sandra (Mrs. Larry) Nelson of Marshall, Minnesota; brother, George Gautefall of Clarkfield; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Ole and Lewie Gautefall; and sisters, Ida Marie (Mrs. Henry) Kjelleberg, Thea (Mrs. Emil) Gilbertson, Inga and Susie Gautefall.
