Mrs. Clarence (Clara) Eye, 92, died at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, Saturday, March 26, 1988. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29, 1988, 2:00 p.m. from the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Organist was Coleen Hewitt with solo music by Mavis Ellingson. Casket Bearers were DeWayne, Greg and Kevin Eye, Arlen Roger and Gordon Gustafson. Final Resting Place is the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery of Hanley Falls, Minnesota Clara was born in Hazel Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on November 9, 1895, to Edward and Amelie (Karlson) Gustafson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls where she was a lifelong member. She attended country school in district 79 and at Hanley Falls High School. Clara married Clarence Eye on a farm in Hazel Run Township on January 22, 1919. She was a farming wife and homemaker who enjoyed being a member of the church choir, ladies aid and teaching Sunday School. She was also an active member of the North Birthday Club and Senior Citizens. Surviving Clara are her three sons, Everett and his wife Sylvia, Ervin and his wife Pearl and James and his wife Darlene of Hanley Falls; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
