Christine Jona Gudmundson, the daughter of Albert and Una (Thorkelson) Gudmundson was born November 9, 1889, and passed away at the Minneota Manor on January 22, 1982, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 13 days. She was baptized into the Christian faith as an infant and was confirmed at the Westerheim Lutheran Church, of which she was a longtime member. She was also a member of the Westerheim Ladies Aid. Later she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Minneota. She attended rural school in District 86 of Yellow Medicine County and also in District 3 of Lyon County. She spent some time in Watertown, South Dakota, where she took up dress- making. For several years she lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she worked as a seamstress in a tailor shop. She returned to the farm home following the death of her widowed mother to take care of the family. She also did sewing for many families in the community. She continued on as a homemaker for her brothers until her health began to fail and she entered the Clarkfield Care Center in 1973. On August 1, 1974, she became a resident of the Minneota Manor, Minneota, Minnesota, where she lived until her death. She is survived by one sister, Ina (Mrs. S.E. Isfeld) of Porter, Minnesota, and two brothers, Carl and Steve of Minneota; also two nephews and seven nieces; 18 great nephews and nieces; and 21 great great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Maria.
