Mrs. Christina Swanson was born in Sweden, March 29, 1875, the daughter of John and Gertrude Lundstrom. When Christina was six years old she came to America with her parents and settled in Joliet, Illinois, where they lived for two years and then moved to Swede Prairie Township in 1883. She was married to Robert Swanson June 10, 1905, and to this union four children were born: Roy, Gordy, Evelyn and Levi. Levi passed away at the age of three months. Christina spent most of her life in Swede Prairie Township on the home farm where she was a member of the Swede Home congregation and a good neighbor and friend to many. Her husband passed away in 1936. Mrs. Swanson passed away at an Austin, Texas hospital on July 6, 1958, after a two week stay there. Survivng are her three children: Roy, Gordy and Evelyn, all of Austin, Texas, four nieces and other relatives and friends. Blessed be her memory among us.
