Charles Odden was born January 25, 1927, in Friendship Township near Hazel Run, Minnesota, one of six children of Steinar Odden and Marion (Hagan) Odden. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Haugland in Hazel Run Church. He died September 1, 1981, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 54 years 7 months and 6 days. He attended school in district #28. He was inducted into the United States Army at the age of 19 and served two months in the United States and 14 months in Japan. He worked in Minneapolis and later on farms in Climax, Minnesota, after returning from service. In 1950 he came back to the Ole Norgaard farm where he resided with his Great Aunt, Anna Norgaard. Although Charles became ill six years ago with Luekemia, he continued farming until last fall. He entered the Veteran's hospital December 30, 1980, until March 3, 1981, and later as an out patient. He entered the Veterans Hospital again June 24, 1981, and remained there until his death. He is survived by a brother, Orville (Bob) Odden of Hazel Run; sisters, Anna Carrol (Mrs. Melford) Iverson of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, Irma (Mrs. Harry) Iverson of Echo, Minnesota, and Alice (Mrs. Darwin) Vick of Astoria, South Dakota; nineteen nieces and nephews; an Uncle, Ole Odden of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Aunt Mrs. Alice Cliffgard of Clarkfield, Minnesota; 11 great nieces and nephews; and cousins in this country and in Norway. He was preceded in death by his father, Steinar, December 11, 1962; Mother, Marion November 8, 1970; brother Harold, August 9, 1972; and a nephew, Greg Odden, June 18, 1972. IN MEMORY OF CHARLES M.
