Obituary

Charles (Chuck) J. Doose LIVED March 13, 1931 - December 21, 2007. His journey through life was enjoyed by many. Chuck was born by Wood Lake, Minnesota, to John and Pearl (Erickson) Doose. He was baptized on April 5, 1931, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake and was confirmed and graduated in Boyd, Minnesota. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force (Firefighting) in 1951 and served four years stateside and in England. During a leave, in 1952, he came back to Boyd and married his high school sweetheart, Ruby L. Agre (known to us as 'Mom') in Granite Falls, Minnesota, at a parsonage. To this love they shared, came FIVE LOVING children: Dan, Char, Teri, Don and Dar. These gifts gave love, joy and (we will even admit) a few challenges along the way. Dairy and farming was the occupation that Chuck ('Pops') and Mom chose. He served many boards, organizations, committees including private, political, public and just telling those that were on other committees what his opinions were. He was active in Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, American Legion, Boyd-Dawson School Board, VFW, Farmers Union, DFL and Prairie Five Board. He was a Golden Glove Boxer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and following many sports and the news. He is remembered for his life by his children and their spouses, grandchildren, great grand children, sisters, brother, in-laws, multitude of nieces, nephews and friends. He was met on December 21, 2007, at Heaven's Gate by: #1 Our Great Lord; Close#2 MOM; his parents; brother; two brothers-in-law; a niece and all his friends that completed this journey before him. He is survived by his children: Daniel (Judy) Doose of Vernon, Texas, Charlene Dixon of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, Teri (Arlyn) Shelstad of Montevideo, Minnesota, Donald of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Darwin (Teresa) of Buffalo, Minnesota. He is survived by grandchildren: Naomi, Janine, Kate, Joel, Brian, Lauren and Megan and great grandchildren Mica and Braden.
