Mathilde (Timm) Fenske
August 16, 1907 – July 21, 1990
Celia Emma Mathilde Timm Fenske was born on August 16, 1907, to Max and Anna Hulke Timm in Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was received into the Kingdom of God through Baptism on August 25, 1907. On May 20, 1921 she was confirmed by Pastor Brauer at St. Luke's Church of Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She graduated from Wood Lake High School in May of 1925 and entered Mankato State College that fall. She taught school for two years in Redwood County and two years at District 44 of Yellow Medicine County. Celia and Ernest Fenske were married on June 12, 1930, and they moved to Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, where they resided on their farm until 1979 when they moved into Clarkfield, Minnesota. This past June they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Four children were born to this union; Delmore of Boyd, Minnesota, Bernetta, deceased, Mary Lou Kurtzbein of Montevideo, Minnesota, and James of Jackson, Wisconsin. Celia died Saturday July 21, 1990, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 82. Celia is survived by her husband, Ernest; sons and wives, Delmore and Bethal, James and Janet; daughter and husband, Mary Lou and Duaine Kurtzbein; son-in-law, Veryl Jessen; 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bernetta Jessen; granddaughter, Kay Jessen; four sisters and one brother. Celia was active in her church as a Sunday School teacher, Ladies Aid member, Ladies Auxiliary member, and choir member. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Blessed be her memory.
