IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cecilia Alida
(Jennen) Buesing
March 9, 1914 – August 30, 1934
Cecilia Alida Jennen Buesing was born March 9, 1914, in Ghent, Minnesota, to Michael and Helene (Stassen) Jennen. She grew up in the Ghent and Minneota area, went to St. Agnes School in Ghent until the 10th grade. Her mother passed away that year and Cecilia did housework for others. On August 30, 1934, she married Ernest Buesing at St. Eloi Catholic Church, Ghent. Ernie's folks retired in 1937 and Ernie and Cel ran that farm until 1941. Then they rented a farm north of Ghent until they bought a farm for themselves southwest of Granite Falls, Minnesota, in March 1948. Her husband, Ernie, died in June of 1977. Cecilia moved to her home in Granite Falls in early 1979. She lived there until moving to Granite Ridge Apartments in 1998. From there she resided at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Cottonwood, Minnesota, and then moved to the Minneota Manor, Minneota, Minnesota, in August of 2000. Cecilia was a member of the CCW, International Affairs Guild, Minnesota Falls Homemakers Club, and enjoyed playing bridge and quilting with her friends. She also enjoyed the neighborhood coffee club. She liked getting together with her family and spent much time playing with her many grandchildren. She went on many trips with Ernie and others to different parts of the world. Cecilia was always proud that she completed her GED, but not until her early 70s. She is survived by three daughters: Marilyn (and Clarence) Borgheiinck of Winthrop, Minnesota, Karen Lund of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Annette (and Glenn) Sharkey of Hanley Falls, Minnesota; five sons: Roger (and Shirley) Buesing of Renville, Minnesota, Gerald (and Brenda) Buesing of Phoenix, Arizona, Kenneth (and Valerie) Buesing of Denver, Colorado, Dean (and Barbara) Buesing of Granite Falls, and Don (and Betty) Buesing of Granite Falls; one daughter-in-law, Mary Buesing of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 26 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lucille, who died in infancy; one son, Thomas; one son-in-law, Robert Babatz; two grandchildren: Lisa Buesing and Steven Babatz; and one great grandchild, Sara Babatz.
