Cecelia Mabel Stokke was born on December 18, 1907, at the home of her parents, Jacob and Mathilda (Rice) Stokke, Belview, Minnesota, in Redwood County. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belview, Minnesota. As a young lady, she took nurses training at Marshall, Minnesota, and later worked at different places as a nurse. Cecelia and Carl Knutson were united in marriage on October 17, 1927. To this union three sons and two daughters were born. Cecelia and Carl farmed in the Belview area and later moved to Clarkfield. She was a member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church where she was active in circles and ladies aid. She belonged to a Homemakers Club, which she enjoyed very much. Cecelia and Oliver Anderson were married in 1974 at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Cecelia passed away on Wednesday evening, November 3, 1993 at the age of 85 years. She was a resident at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield, Minnesota. She is survived by her children: Murlon (wife Betty) Knutson of Dawson, Minnesota; Burton (wife Randine) Knutson of Brooten, Minnesota; Richard (wife Pat) Knutson of New Lisbon, Wisconsin; Ellen (husband Harvey) Smith of Litchfield, Minnesota; and Bertha (husband Dennis) Voss of Litchfield, Minnesota. She is also survived by one sister, Alida (Emil) West of Clarkfield, 17 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Cecelia is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mathilda Stokke, husband Carl in 1970 and husband Oliver in 1976 and one brother Soren Stokke and wife Eartha.
