Caroline Wilhelmina (Zahn) Koepp was born on June 10, 1916 at Bellingham, Minnesota, to Henry and Anna (Maatz) Zahn. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walter Township, Bellingham, Minnesota. Caroline Zahn and Fred G. Koepp were married on September 26, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bellingham. Two children were born to this marriage: LeAnn and Maynard. Caroline and Fred lived on their farm west of Clarkfield all their married life. She was very active in Zion LWML. She served as an officer and delegate many times. She also served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She enjoyed being involved in the preparation of the history of Zion for its Centennial. Caroline loved the outdoors and spent much time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed the camping and fishing trips. She enjoyed living on her farm and also spending her winter months at the Valhalla Apartments. Caroline Koepp passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 1993, at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope, Minnesota, at the age of 77 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Zahn; husband, Fred Koepp in 1983; and son-in-law, Arnold Schuerman. Caroline is survived by daughter, LeAnn Schuerman of Maple Grove; son, Maynard and wife (Judy) Koepp of Marshall; grandchildren: Kevin and wife (Jill) Schuerman of New Hope, Minnesota; Lori and husband (Richard) Davidson of Crystal, Minnesota; and Ryan and Tanya Koepp of Marshall, Minnesota. Also surviving include sisters: Mrs. Elvin (Eleanor) Olson and Mrs. Eldon (Lillian) Streich, both of Bellingham, Minnesota. "What God ordains is always good; His will abideth holy.
