Carol Kay Eschen, 50, of Boyd, Minnesota, passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, on January 24, 1989. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 1989, at the Montevideo United Methodist Church with Pastor Ramon A. Olson officiating. Music was provided by organist Nona Thompson and soloist John Walstrom. Casket Bearers were Virgil Anderson, Chuck Doose, Todd Eschen, Gary Hofmann, Vern Lien and Kevin Sanders. Burial was in theTerrace Lawn Memory Gardens, Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. Carol was born in Miller, South Dakota, on February 28, 1938, to Frank and Iva Sanders. She married Lloyd Eschen on October 12, 1953, in Watertown, South Dakota. They had four children, Jim Eschen of Boyd, Peg Stevens of Graham, Texas, Dennis Eschen of Boyd, and Scott Eschen of Raymond, Minnesota. She was a member of the Montevideo United Methodist Church, was active in the Boyd Booster Club and was a former Health Inspector in Boyd.
