Carol Catherine (Laux) Nehring was born on September 9, 1940, in Redwood County, Minnesota, to parents Eldred and Magdaline (Raschka) Laux. She was one of five siblings. Carol and Myron Nehring of Boyd, Minnesota, were united in marriage on April 25, 1959. This marriage was blessed with two children: Wayne and Donna. Myron and Carol lived in Boyd where she was employed at the Central Light and Fixture Co. for 10-12 years and also at the State Bank of Boyd. She also worked at the Clarkfield Care Center and most recently at Innovex Inc. in Montevideo, Minnesota. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Montevideo where she would serve as an usher and greeter. She and Myron also belonged to the Scenic Valley Cruisers. Carol and Myron had spent the last two months vacationing in Arizona with family and friends. She became ill on the return to Minnesota and passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 11 days. Carol is survived by her husband, Myron; son Wayne (and Mary) of Boyd; and daughter Donna (and fiance Skip Freeman) of Montevideo; grandchildren: Jon (and Sarah) Lanpher, Josh Lanpher, Jessica Lanpher, Justin Scherer, Jacob Nehring, and Nicholas Nehring; and great grandson Brett Lanpher. She is also survived by brothers: Joe (and Sharon) Laux and Eldred (and Rita) Laux; sisters: Marcie (and Bob) McKigney and Monica (and Larry) Oseid; nieces and nephews: Michael and Maria McKigney, Mary and David Laux, Kevin Laux, Patty Jo Ankerfelt and Tammy Oseid; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
