Carol Geneva Taylor, age 93 years 11 months, died on January 25, 2016, peacefully at her home in Shakopee, Minnesota. Her death was 35 years to the day after her mother's death (Suzie Oraas Dotseth). Burial will be at the Clarkfield Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016, followed by a time of fellowship at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Carol Geneva Taylor was born February 22, 1922, to Oscar and Susana (Oraas) Dotseth in Friendship Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1941. She left High School to attend Norwegian American School of Nursing in Chicago where she graduated. Upon graduation she went back to Minneapolis where she was a nurse in the cancer ward for many years at the University of Minnesota and Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Following her time there she also worked for the State of Minnesota until her retirement about 30 years ago. Carol owned a triplex home in the Lake Calhoun area on Humboldt Avenue where she was her own handyman, doing her own plumbing and repairs. She also owned a fourplex on 32nd and Columbus that she managed and rented out. She was talented in gardening, refurbishing furniture and maintaining repairs in her homes. Her last home was in Shakopee where she lived until her passing on January 25th. Carol was married to Charles Taylor and Harold Burkhardt. Both marriages ended in divorce. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Suzie Dotseth and all her siblings: Evalyn Isaacs, Raymond, Irma Getty, Nuel, Owen, Esther Barrett, Oscar (Bud), and Wanda Remmen. Carol is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and their families: Erling Dotseth of Hector, Minnesota, Elwood Isaacs of Norman, Oklahoma, Elaine Cornelius of Clarkfield, Irv Getty of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Shirley Alness of Bloomington, Minnesota, Joanne Melbostad of Clarkfield, Duane Getty of Henderson, Nevada, Sharon Fischer of Anoka, Minnesota, Dean Isaacs of Pahrump, Nevada, Paul Dotseth of Beverly Hills, California, James Dotseth of Plymouth, Minnesota, Sylvia Nash of Chino Hills, California, Junice Dotseth of Clarkfield, Susan Wimmergren of Ivanhoe, Minnesota, Robert Dotseth of Andover, Minnesota, Dale Isaacs of Woodinville, Washington, Kathy Erickson of Minneapolis, Connie Gilsrud of Austin, Minnesota, Chuck Dotseth of Jordan, Minnesota, Maxine Dotseth of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, John Remmen of Rogers, Minnesota, and Gayle Erickson of Minneapolis.
