Carl Rysdahl was born July 24, 1888, on a farm in Friendship Township, about 2 1/2 miles south of Clarkfield to parents Anders and Marie Eide Rysdahl. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church of which he has been a member all his life. After his father retired he and his brother Lewis continued to work his fathers farm until Lewis married and bought another farm. Carl married Hannah Benson in 1937. They continued farming for a number of years and later built a home in Clarkfield. Hannah died October 28, 1965. Carl continued to live alone in their home taking good care of all the work in his home until he became ill about a month ago and had to go to the hospital. He passed away Monday, May 1, 1978. He is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Alfred Hagren, Faribault, Minnesota and Mathilda Rysdahl of Clarkfield; one brother, Lewis Rysdahl of Clarkfield; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Wallen. God bless his memory!
