Carl William Rydeen was born August 28, 1880, at Skaraborg, Lun, Sweden, the son of John and Ann Rydeen. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Olander in the Lurg Church of Sweden. In the summer of 1906, at the age of 26 years, he sailed for America and came to Clarkfield, Minnesota, where he worked for C. Axel Larson during harvest time of that year. In the spring of 1906, he went to work as a carpenter's aid and in a few years worked on his own at this trade until he retired in 1947. He resided in Clarkfield until the summer of 1960 when he moved to Willmar, Minnesota, where he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. A. Raymond Anderson, until the past year when he became a resident of the Willmar Nursing Home. Mr. Rydeen passed away October 25, 1965, at the Willmar Nursing Home, at the age of 85 years. His parents, two sisters and two brothers in Sweden, preceded him in death. Two nephews in Bankeryd, Sweden, survive. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church of Clarkfield.
