Carl J. Hauge was born February 11, 1878, of the parents Jens Hauge and Joanna (Wangnes) Hauge in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital July 28, 1959, at the age of 81 years. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Bergen Lutheran Church of which he has been a lifefong member. His childhood days were spent at the homestead of his parents. He attended rural school in District 26 and secondary school at Willmar, Minnesota. After graduating from Business College in Minneapolis, he accepted a position as bank teller at Redfield, South Dakota. When his father passed away he returned home to farm the homestead with his brother, Ingebret, for the remainder of his life. He was very active in community affairs, serving in various capacities in public offices. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother, Ingebret and sister Selma, at home, and sisters, Mrs. Jennie Lund and Mrs. Eugene Shepard of Williams, Minnesota, and also several nieces and nephews. His capability and willingness to help others will always be remembered by his family and friends. IN MEMORY OF CARL J.
