Carl Alberteen Aakvik was born July 15, 1916, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to John C. and Olga Aakvik. He resided in Clarkfield, Minnnesota, for a number of years where he was engaged in trucking. He lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for several years until he retired, then moving to Montevideo, Minnesota. His last three years were spent at Luther Haven Nursing Home, Montevideo. Carl was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, where he has been a life long member. On March 29, 1942, he was united in marriage to Doris B. Hegna at Granite Falls, Minnesota. Carl passed away September 6, 1990, at the Luther Haven Nursing Home of Montevideo, at the age of 74 years. Carl is survived by his wife, Doris, of Montevideo; sisters, Evelyn Sorenson of Clarkfield, Myrtle Booker of Keokok, Iowa, and Judith Hanson of Montevideo; also brothers Melvin of Clarkfield, Arthur of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Bennie of Walcott, North Dakota. Preceding Carl in death were his parents and one infant sister. Blessed be his memory.
