Camilla Peterson was born on October 21, 1917, in Clarkfield, Minnesota to Alfred and Annie (Thorhaug) Jacobson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Minnesota. Camilla worked as a Bookkeeper at the Clarkfield Elevator before her marriage to M. Leonard Peterson on January 30, 1946, in Clarkfield, Minnesota. To this union two children were born, Karen and Wayne. After Leonard retired from farming they moved to Clarkfield in 1968. In 1972 they moved to Valhalla Apartments until December 1989 when she entered the Clarkfield Care Center. Camilla was very active in the Spring Creek Ladies Aid. Camilla Peterson passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on April 9, 1993, at the age of 75. She is survived by daughter, Karen and husband, Art Jensen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son, Wayne and wife, Sharon of Corcoran, Minnesota; grandchildren: Christine Jensen of Springfield, Virginia; Robert Jensen of Bullhead City, Arizona; and Michael Peterson of Corcoran, Minnesota; brothers: Milton and wife Berneil Jacobson of Willmar, Minnesota; Wesley and wife Marvel Jacobson of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; sister, Alice Herrick of Delta, Colorado; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard in 1979, brother, Myron and sister, Irene Kise.
