(Olson) Wilson
August 6, 1926 – August 15, 2000
Camilla Josephine (Olson) Wilson was born on August 6, 1926, in Tyro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Clarence and Hilda (Olson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Camilla attended Clarkfield High School and graduated with the Class of 1944. Following graduation, she worked for the County Agent, George Gehant, as his secretary. Camilla married Herbert W. Wilson on June 14, 1947, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Herbert and Camilla were the parents of a son, Herbert, and a daughter, Heidi. They farmed in Tyro Township, where Camilla remained in the area her entire life. Camilla worked for the United States Postal Service for many years. She held positions in Clarkfield, Boyd, and also Willmar. She retired from the Postal Service several years ago, and has been working at Clarkfield Outdoors, working just a few days before her death. Camilla loved her family, she loved her church, she always had time for her grandchildren. She loved to watch the birds and enjoyed reading. She was a member of the Israel Lutheran Church, WELCA, and the Hazel Run Legion Auxiliary. She passed away on Tuesday evening, August 15, 2000, at the age of 74 years and 10 days at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her children: Herb and his sons Justin, Daniel, and Scott of rural Boyd, Minnesota, and Heidi (and Gordon, Sr.) LaBatte and family, Stephanie, Jocelyn, Autumn, and Gordon Jr. of Granite Falls, Minnesota. She is also survived by her brother Roger Olson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; sister Hildegard Abraham of New Ulm, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herbert, in 1975. Camilla was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor. She put her love of her family above anything else. She will be deeply missed.
