Burton Kaye Kompelien was born on February 27, 1955, at Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized by Rev. E.L. Borg-Breen on April 3, 1955, and confirmed by Rev. W.H. Loughmiller on May 17, 1970. He attended school at Clarkfield until second grade and then due to his illness he continued his education by Home-Bound Instruction. He was now in the eleventh grade. He slept away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 1972, at the age of 17 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Thurman and Inez (Hovdesven) Kompelien; one brother, Leonard of Marshall, Minnesota; two sisters and their husbands: Arlys and Roger Tilberg and Betty and Michael Bergeland of Montevideo, Minnesota; grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hovdesven and Mr. Theodore Kompelien; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.
