Burnell "Bunny" Rikke was born March 24, 1934, at the farm home in Renville, Minnesota, to Henry and Luella (Danielson) Brummer. She was baptized in the spring of 1934 and confirmed in June of 1948 at The First Lutheran Church in Renville. Bunny attended District 37 School through the 8th grade and graduated from Renville High School in 1952. Bunny and Arvid Rikke were married on November 1, 1952, in Renville. They were the parents of five children. She worked as a waitress for most of her life and also helped with the farming. She also was employed at Impact Plastics in Clara City, Minnesota, for several years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and its choir. Bunny was a member of the Boyd American Legion Auxiliary and also the VFW Auxiliary of Dawson, Minnesota. She enjoyed crocheting, but her greatest enjoyment was her "grandbabies" and "great-grandbabies." Bunny passed away on Friday, December 17, 2004, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 23 days. She is survived by her children: Allen (and friend Jean Shipps) of Nebraska, John (and Joni) of Wyoming, Lucina (and Mike) Saue of Dawson, and Steve (and Tammy) of Wyoming. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four sisters: Ruthie Randleman, Virgil DeGree, Odella Raymond and Mildred (and Wayne) Zaske all of Renville; and two brothers: Tom (and Marlene) Brummer of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Ade (and Betty) Brummer of Cloquet, Minnesota. Also surviving is a brother-in-law Alfred Lenz of Renville; sister-in-law Shirla (and Sander) Peterson of Apache Junction, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; baby girl Rikke; husband Arvid in October of 1997; two sisters: Alyce White and Dolores Lenz; two brothers: Jim and Donald Brummer; brothers-in-law: Randy Randleman, Leonard DeGree, Sr., Howard Fuehrer, Ken Raymond, and Oilman and Sheldon Rikke; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Schafer; and her daughter, Robin.
