Beverly Jean (Hansen) Kompelien was born January 20, 1934, in Rock County, Minnesota, to parents Newton M. and Margaret (DeBates) Hansen. She attended rural Minneota Schools. Beverly was united in marriage to Erling M. Kompelien on June 6, 1953, at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children: Jeffrey, Kristine, Robert, and Karen. Beverly was a member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church near Cottonwood, Minnesota. She was a faithful worshipper and served by singing in the choir and working in the women's circle. She was a loving wife and mother and a help mate in every way. Beverly passed peacefully at her home in Westerheim Township of Lyon County, Minnesota, on Saturday evening, October 28, 2000, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 8 days. Beverly is survived by her husband of 47 years, Erling; and her children and their families: Jeffrey (and Julaine) of rural Minneota, Kristine Reed of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Robert (and Becky) of Minneota, and Karen (and Patrick) Feterl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is also survived by grandsons: Andrew, Aaron, Adam, Alex, and Anthony; sisters: Betty Stensrud of Minneota and Judy Peterson of Norfolk, Nebraska, and brothers: Robert Hansen of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Dean Hansen of Canby, Minnesota, Jim Hansen of Bemidji, Minnesota, Jerry Hansen of Alexandria, Minnesota, and Larry Hansen of Backus, Minnesota; and many "in-laws" and friends. Bev was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Loni Kompelien; and brothers-in-law Wayne Peterson and Howard Geihl. Blessed be the memory of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
