Betsey J. Erickson was born on the family homestead two miles south of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, on May 21, 1894, to Alec and Jane (Mhyrre) Ellingson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Hanley Falls. On February 7, 1918, she was united in marriage to Arthur A. Erickson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has lived on the family homestead her entire life. She entered the Granite Falls Hospital on January 9, 1972. On February 4, 1972, she was transferred to the Manor. She passed away at the Granite Falls Manor on Friday, March 3, 1972, at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Erickson was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son. She is survived by her husband, Arthur; two daughters: Ethel (Mrs. Al Dirnberger) of Echo, Minnesota, and Phyllis (Mrs. Iren Peterson) of Hanley Falls; one son, Denton, of Hanley Falls; five grandchildren: Alec LaMar Dirnberger and Richard Dirnberger of Echo; Diane, David and Debra Erickson of Hanley Falls; and one great granddaughter, Jill Dirnberger of Echo.
