Bessie Mildred Feist, 75, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died at 4:45 a.m. Easter morning, April 19, 1987, at the Clarkfield Care Center. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 1987, at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, with Pastor Robert Lehner of Minneota, Minnesota officiating. The organist was Mrs. Karen Donner and the soloist RaNae Thompson. Casket Bearers were grandsons, David Dotseth, Ronald Dotseth, Paul Christensen, Steve Eliason, Jon Eliason and David Feist. She was born March 11, 1912, in Madison, Minnesota, to parents Arne and Marie Grobel. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On May 7, 1931, she married Elmer J. Feist of Clarkfield. They had five children: Donald, Patricia, Susan, Roger and Katherine. She devoted her life to the enjoyment of her family and friends and worked at the Clarkfield Memorial Hospital for 18 1/2 years, retiring in December of 1985. On May 14, 1986, she was operated on and found to have cancer. She remained at her home in Clarkfield until December 3, 1986, when she was admitted to the Clarkfield Care Center. She is survived by her husband Elmer; sons, Donald of Clarkfield and Roger of Atwater, Minnesota; daughters, Patricia Dotseth and Susan (Mrs. John) Christensen of Clarkfield and Katherine (Mrs. Jesse) Eliason of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; sons-in-law John Christensen and Jesse Eliason; daughters-in-law Darlene Feist and Phyllis Feist; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers Richard Grobel of Madison, Minnesota and Bruce Leaseman of Boyd, Minnesota; sister Grace Conner of Dawson, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Evelyn, Dagmar and Myrtle O'Connele; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
