Myrtle Lein was born September 29, 1903, in Emmett County at Wallingford, Iowa, to Baste and Gudve (Knutson) Jacobson. On February 27, 1925, she married Oscar Lein. To this union four children were born: Mavis Larson of Milan, Minnesota, Loren Lein of Blue Earth, Minnesota, Vernon Lein of Boyd, Minnesota and Vera Hermanson of Jamestown, North Dakota. She was an active church member, Sunday School teacher and Ladies Aid officer. She was a Watson Improvement member and also a 4-H adult leader for twenty years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Oscar, in 1974; her brothers, Louis and Clarence; her sister, Nellie; her parents Baste and Gudve; and her step-mother Alletta. She is survived by her four children: Mavis, Loren, Vernon and Vera; 13 grandchildren; five great grandsons; three sisters, Olga, Mildred and Gyda; two brothers, Carl and Blenchard; and many nieces and nephews.
