(Heintze) Riediger
February 27, 1872 – April 9, 2016
Mrs. Bertha Augusta Riediger was born February 27, 1872, at San Pierre, Indiana, the daughter of John and Ottelia (Kostiner) Heintze. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Blue Earth, Minnesota. At the age of 14 years she came with her parents to Omro Township as pioneers. July 8th, 1891, she was united in marriage to Gustav Riediger and settled in Omro Township. To this union eight children were born. Her husband preceded preceded her in death February 4, 1928. Three sisters and her parents also preceded her in death. Her health had been failing for some time. Since March 4th, she had been staying at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.A. Piipke. Prior to that she had lived at her home with her son, William. Wednesday, April 5th, her condition became acute and she passed away Sunday, April 9th, at 7:50 p.m., at the age of 78 years, one month and 12 days, at the Omro Township home of her daughter. She leaves to mourn her departure, her family, Adolph of Omro Township, Emma (Mrs. Carl Kienast) of Brandt, South Dakota, Ida (Mrs. W.A. Piipke) of Omro Township, Helene (Mrs. Ed Nohrenberg) of Wadena, Minnesota, John of Vesta, Minnesota, Clara (Mrs. Adolph Kienast) of Toronto, South Dakota, Arthur of Tyro Township, William and Gerhard of Omro Township; one brother, Herman Heintze of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; two brothers-in-law; four daughters-in-law; four sons-in-law; 11 grandchildren; four foster grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five foster great grandchildren; and Carol Hanson of Japan whom she befriended in her home for about six years. Mrs. Riediger was a faithful member of St. John's congregation for many years. Funeral Services from the W.R.
