Mrs. Bertha (Rindahl) Bicek was born on March 1, 1896, in Wergeland Township in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Hans and Maggie (Johnson) Rindahl. Bertha passed away on Friday, September 27, 1991, at the age of 95 years, at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She grew up in Wergeland Township near Canby, Minnesota, where she attended Wergeland Township rural school. She was married on September 23, 1918, to Fred Bicek. She was a good and faithful farmer's wife, a loving and caring grandmotner and great grandmother. She was interested in cooking and baking, she also liked vegetable and flower gardening and she enjoyed sewing immensely. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Canby since 1964. Bertha is survived by her son, Donald Bicek; of Taunton, Minnesota; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Fell of Porter, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Maggie Rindahl; her husband Fred Bicek; her brothers Walter and Hjelmer Rindahl; her four sisters Hannah Reiners, Lena Rindahl, Ella Bicek, and Hilda Rindahl; and half-sister Julia Boe.
