Bernice Evangeline Fritz was born to parents Edmund and Clara (Heutter) Fritz on May 18, 1924, on the Heutter farm of Omro Township, Minnesota. She was baptized by Rev. Bernhardt Luttman on May 26, 1924, at Zion Lutheran Church of Tyro Township. Bernice attended Parochial School at Wellington, Fairfax, Minnesota. She was confirmed by Rev. E.G. Fritz in May of 1938, at Wellington. Bernice entered Holy Wedlock on November 2, 1941 with Rueben Lehmann. To this union two sons were born: Derlyn and DuWayne. Derlyn passed away in 1966 while serving his country in Viet Nam. Bernice was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Boyd. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and her friends. She also enjoyed sending cards. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tyro Township. Bernice passed away on Thursday, December 15, 1994 at the University of Minnesota Hospital at the age of 70 years. She leaves to mourn her son, DuWayne and wife Ilene, and granddaughters Darla, Darcy, and Dana of Boyd. Also two sisters: Mrs Robert (Ruth) Johnson of Bloomington and Mrs. Edson (Sylvia) Moffit of St. Paul; six brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; 12 nieces and nephews and aunts, uncles, and many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Edmund and Clara Fritz, her grandparents, her husband Rueben in 1952, son Derlyn in 1966, her brothers and sisters, and brother-in-law Bob Johnson.
