Bernice Ruth Saby was born on September 1, 1908 in Kenaston Saskatchewan, Canada to parents Arthur and Julie (Imes) Lecy. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She later became a U.S. citizen. Bernice married Sulvan E. Saby on January 20, 1926 at Rock Valle Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born: Stanley, Judith, Archie, Marvin, Berdella and Odin. Bernice Ruth Saby passed away on Friday morning, December 1, 1995 at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 87 years, 3 months. Bernice was active in the Hazel Run Lutheran Ladies Aid, Roadside Garden Club and she worked as a cook at Walt's Cafe, the Clarkfield Care Center and Laura Olson's Cafe. She is survived by two daughters and three sons: Judith (and Leslie) Wilson of Hazel Run; Archie (and Joan) Saby of Baltimore, MD; Marvin (and June) Saby of Clarkfield; Berdella (and Arnold) Antonson of Granite Falls; and Odin (and Darlene) Saby of Bloomington. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two sisters: Verna Olson and Julia Ann Knudson and one brother: Lawrence Lecy. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, husban Sulvan, one son: Stanley and three brothers: Irvin, Aldie and Roy Lecy. Blessed be her memory.
