Bernetta June Fenske Jessen was born to Ernest and Celia (Timm) Fenske on June 17, 1934. She was baptized into the Christian Church, Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She renewed her baptismal vows through confirmation on May 9, 1948, by Reverend A.W. Fuerstenau. Bernetta graduated from Dawson High School, Dawson, Minnesota, in 1952. She was employed as secretary to the County Agent in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. June 25, 1955, Bernetta was united in marriage with Veryl Jessen at St. John's Church of Omro Township by Reverend Lloyd Hahnke. This union was blessed with four children: Bradley, Kay, Ronald, and Kathleen. On Thursday, April 10th, she was admitted to the Montevideo Hospital. She was called to her eternal rest early Thursday morning, May 7, 1981. She reached the age of 46 years, 10 months, and 20 days. Bernetta was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay. She is survived by her husband, Veryl; her son, Bradley, and his wife, Theresa; her son, Ronald, and his wife, Tammy; and her daughter, Kathleen. She is also survived by her parents, Ernest and Celia Fenske of Clarkfield; one sister, Mary Lou Kurtzbein of Montevideo, Minnesota; and two brothers, Delmore of Boyd, Minnesota, and James of Jackson, Wisconsin. She will be mourned by many relatives and many friends. Bernetta was very active in church as a church organist and in her church circle. She served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and was a 4-H leader for many years. Without a doubt, she touched the lives of many people. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Cemetery where they will await final resurrection. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
