March 1, 1906 – October 16, 1956
Bernard Severt Stokke was born in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Olai and Helena (Christofferson) Stokke on March 1, 1906. Here he resided and grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Helma Foss of Hazel Run, Minnesota, on February 5, 1933. They farmed one year in Normania and seven years near Clarkfield, Minnesota. In 1941 they moved to Clarkfield where he was engaged in trucking until he was taken ill by a stroke, four and one-half years ago. On Monday, October 8th, he was taken seriously ill and was moved to the Olivia Hospital where he lingered until last Tuesday, October 16th, 4:20 p.m., when he peacefully slept away to be with Jesus, whom he loved. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife and three children: Duane of Minneapolis, Beulah (Mrs. Earl Lindquist) and Sharon of Clarkfield; one son-in-law and one grandchild; his father, Olai, living in Clarkfield; two brothers and three sisters: Harry, Clara (Mrs. Clifford Christensen) of Clarkfield, Carl of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Helen (Mrs. Noren Albeck) of Hazel Run, Elinora (Mrs. John Nicolai) of Minneapolis. His mother, one sister and one brother preceded him in death. He will be sadly missed by his wife and children and all who loved him. IN MEMORY OF BERNARD S.
