Bergliot Gudrun Hauge Stueland was born May 19, 1914, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Malvin and Ann (Schjeldrup) Hauge. She was baptized August 2, 1914, in the Lutheran Church and later confirmed there. She attended Clarkfield High School and graduated in 1933. Berg worked as a nurse at the local hospital with her father and later with her brothers Malvin and Waldemar at the Clarkfield Clinic. She spent many years caring for her mother, Bess, and later was happily married to Richard Stueland until his death in 1980. Berg was a member of the Clarkfield Legion Auxiliary and Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She enjoyed listening to choir music and talking around the kitchen table with her friends and family. Bergliot passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on Monday evening, May 5, 2003, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 16 days, two weeks before her 89th birthday. She is survived by Dr. Erling T. Hauge of Sun City West, Arizona, his wife Emiline; sister-in-law Evalyn Kruger of Willmar, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bergliot was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; her sisters Cecelia and Dagmar; and her brothers Malvin and Waldemar.
