Bennie Christensen, 86, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died May 4, 1987, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, Minnesota. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 1987, at Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, with Pastor Robert Lehner officiating. Karen Donner was the organist. Casket Bearers were Kimbell Kompelien, Donald Kompelien, Gordon Johnson, Floyd Christensen, Paul Christensen and John Lundy. Final Resting Place is the Spring Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was born June 25, 1900, in rural Clarkfield to Christian and Signe (Kompelien) Christensen. He was baptized and confirmed in Spring Creek Lutheran Church and has been a lifetime member there. He spent his years on the family farm until his health made it necessary to go to the nursing home over seven years ago. He enjoyed ouside sports including hunting and fishing. Many of his friends and relatives comment on his quiet nature and his goodness. He is survived by his sister Cora Christensen; nephews Stanley, Allan, John Christensen and families; nieces Lois Andres, Nordis Schrankler and Gaylce Bupara, June Dahlager, Shirley Olson and Donna Teeter and their families and many relatives and friends.
