Beatrice Orine Stensrud was born September 17, 1912, in Nome, North Dakota, to Olaf and Mabel (Hase) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church of Nome and attended school there. Beatrice met and married Marvin Stensrud of Minneota, Minnesota, on October 14, 1934, in North Dakota. To this union five children were born. Marvin and Beatrice made their first home on a farm in rural Lyon County, Minnesota, in 1934. They moved to Riverside Farm in 1944 and remained there until 1968, at which time they moved to a new home in Minneota. She worked six years as a nurses aide at the Nursing Home in Marshall, Minnesota. Mrs. Stensrud passed away Saturday evening, February 23, 1980, at Weiner Hospital in Marshall, at the age of 67 years. She is survived by her husband, Marvin, of Minneota; three sons: Donavan (and Shirley) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Larry (and Ann) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Rodney (and Lonna) of Minneota; one daughter, Bonnie (Mrs. Ralph Welker) of Oakland, California; nine grandchildren; six sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Derald, in infancy, and her parents.
