August O. Wilson was born on a farm near Hazel Run, Minnesota, August 9, 1890, the son of Halvor and Annie (Tongen) Wilson. He was baptized by Rev. Knut Thostenson and confirmed by Rev. C.T. Clauson. He lived most of his life on this farm with the exception of the past few years, which he spent in the village of Hazel Run. Mr. Wilson was stricken suddenly early Tuesday morning, August 24, 1954, with a heart attack. He was taken to the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, where he passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 1954, at the age of 64 years. Leaving to mourn his departure are three sisters, Martha and Hilda of Hazel Run and Nettie (Mrs. E.P. Mikelson) of Clarkfield; two brothers, Oscar and Lawrence of Montevideo, Minnesota; and six nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ingwal and Hans. August was a quiet hard working man, always willing to help with things he was able to do. He will be sadly missed by his family. Blessed be his memory.
