Audrey Elaine (Winson) McCoy was born on September 5, 1927, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Sylvia (Gunderson) Winson. She died at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, August 5, 1974, at the age of 46 years. Mrs. McCoy was raised in the Clarkfield community, graduated from Clarkfield High School, then attended normal teachers training at Canby, Minnesota. She taught country schools for two years and was then married to Leland McCoy on July 26, 1947. Three boys were born to this union: Leland Jr., Patrick and Kenneth. In 1971, Mrs. McCoy graduated as a registered nurse and then served at the Montevideo and Clarkfield hospitals. She was a member of the Clarkfield United Methodist Church, as well as an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Eastern Star Organization. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Leland; her three sons: Leland Jr., of Clarkfield, Patrick, in the United States Army stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, and Kenneth of Clarkfield; two brothers: Sherman Winson of Clarkfield, and Richard Winson of Richland, Washington; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
