IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Audrey Ellen
Koelke
July 2, 1930 – July 20, 2009
Audrey Ellen TeGantvoort Koelke was born on July 2, 1930 on the family farm near the Minnesota and Gary, South Dakota border to parents Harvey and Elnora (Jensen) TeGantvoort. She was one of three children, the other two were brothers: James and Raymond. She attended school through the 8th grade. Audrey and Alfred A. "Bud" Koelke were married on February 19, 1950 at Gary, South Dakota. They were the parents of three daughters: Connie, Marlene and Darla. Because of Bud's work, the family lived in many places before settling in Clarkfield. Their home was near the Clarkfield School until after the tornado, which destroyed most of their home. They then moved to her current home near the Care Center. Audrey owned and operated Audrey's Cafe until 1991. She loved crafts! They were her hobby. She made afghans and loved crocheting dresses for dolls. She always said that she hoped she would not loose her eye sight or the use of her hands, so she couldn't do her crafts. She also loved to take pictures of family or anyone else. Audrey passed away at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital on Monday, July 20, 2009 at the age of 79 years and 18 days. She is survived by her daughters: Connie (and Robert) Nelson of Clarkfield, Marlene Turnbull of Appleton and Darla Moore of Montevideo. She is also survived by her grandsons: Sean Swart, Jamie Heisner, Adam Heisner, Corey Heisner, Joe Moore and Jordan Moore and great grandsons Michael Swart and Griffin Heisner, and by her brother Jim (and Arlene) TeGantvoort of Rapid City, SD and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond and husband Alfred. Blessed be her memory.
