Audrey Irene Blanch Ohlson passed away Friday, May 15, 1998 at her home in Granite Falls at the age of 81. Audrey was born February 12, 1917 in Baxter Township to William Martin and Lillian Grace (Jertson) Anderson. She was baptized April 8, 1917 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Lac qui Parle County, MN and confirmed May 17, 1931 at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. After the death of her mother, Audrey (nine years old) lived with her special family, George and Ida (Jertson) Greseth. During her teen years she attended school in Madison, Minneapolis and graduated from Clarkfield High School. On December 9, 1939 Audrey married Raymond Fredrick Ohlson on the George Greseth farm in rural Hazel Run on a warm and sunny day. To this union two children were born: Donna and LeRoy. Audrey was an active member of Hazel Run Lutheran Church as the Choir Director, the Men's Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher and WELCA member. Audrey enjoyed helping Raymond plant and harvest their crops. She enjoyed having company for meals; her coffee pot was always on. She and Ray retired in 1975 and moved to their home in Granite Falls where they made many new friends. Audrey kept busy with gardening, playing cards, traveling and bingo. She also enjoyed the Birthday Club she attended with her former neighbors. Audrey is survived by her daughter Donna and her husband Wendell Hartfiel of Bloomington, MN and her son LeRoy and his wife Brenda of rural Clarkfield. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Loren Hartfiel of Eden Prairie, MN; Lane Hartfiel and his wife Nancy of Janesville, MN; Lance Hartfiel of Eden Prairie; Taunja and her husband Brad Kelvington of Harrisburg, SD; Stacy and her husband David Hinz of Granite Falls, MN; and Aaron Ohlson of rural Clarkfield; and five great-grandchildren: Monica Hartfiel, John and Samuel Hartfiel, Courtney Hinz and Luke Kelvington. Other surviving family members are her brother Charles Anderson and his wife Nancy of Puyallop, WA; sister Dorothy and her husband Calvin Hinrichs of Big Lake, MN; and special family members brother Grant Greseth and his wife Inez of rural Hanley Falls, MN; and sister Violet and her husband Ray Moraine of Breezy Point, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond and her special sister Edna Winge McCormick. Blessed be her memory.
